Places Britain has not invaded marked in white.

I did figure it would be something like this, but still incredible.

LOL, this is  so untrue

I never bothered to check it.
How isn’t it true?

It’s not entirely untrue, but it is misleading. There were no british troops in some of this countries. However I am not entirely sure about the correct meaning of “invasion”.  Does “invasion” includes bombardment? Also, this map creates the illusion that british troops were covering all of those territories. But they were occupying only certain areas.

I cannot remember the time when the British have ”invaded” my country, as far as I know they were only standing in the sea, waiting if their help would be needed for our own army :\ This probably shows where the British troops have been, not invaded.Or maybe we can include British tourists, because that really starts feeling like an invasion, what with the disrespectful behavior and all.

What is your country? I suspect the OP just gave misleading description. Maybe those are countries that were at war with Britain at some point in history. Nevertheless the map itself is wrong.

Latvia :’D I even looked through the history books when I saw this the first time, we haven’t been at war with Britain, but I think that there is another version of this map going around where it says ”countries where British troops have been” or something like that, in that case this map woud be somewhat true, at least for us. During the battles for independence of the country, they were at the sea as allies, but I don’t think it ever came to troops coming on shore.

Admittedly, the map is a bit inaccurate. I didn’t put it together, but I did check over as many of the countries as I had time for. “Invaded” may have been a poor word choice, but it’s one hell of a lot shorter than “[Places Britain has not yet] held an unusually strong influence in the past 600 years”. Even that comes up short. At the very least, people are looking at it and questioning it - this is how we all learn.
